At the gate of the Higher Regional Court every person and every piece of luggage will be checked similar to airport security checks.

This might result in delays when entering the Court premises.

All bags, briefcases and other containers will be checked for weapons (firearms, knifes etc.) and other potentially dangerous items. Metal detectors and baggage screening equipment are used for these checks. Dangerous items found will be seized or taken into custody.

Cell phones are permitted. Dictaphones may be used, but only by staff members of the Court and lawyers. The security officer (“Sicherheitsbeauftragter”) or the Press Spokesperson (“Pressesprecher”) of the Higher Regional Court will decide on further exceptions upon request.

Audio and video recordings on the premises of the Higher Regional Court are not allowed; the same applies to taking photographs. Audio- and image recording devices will therefore be taken into custody.

It is highly recommended that groups exceeding 20 persons register their visit well in advance. For registration please contact either the office of the Head of Administration (“Geschäftsleitung”) or the Press Spokesperson.

Delays up to 15 minutes when entering the court premises might occur, in particular during rush hours (8.30 to 9.30 and 11.30 to 12.30). Please take note of these possible delays. Being late might affect your legal position if you are obliged to be present in court at a certain time.
